I was the first, the void of chaos, the nothingness before creation all began.
I suppose many have made that claim, which leaves the question of who is really telling the truth. There are many avatars of chaos, all claiming to be the first. The simple answer is that they are all telling the truth.
At first there was only one avatar of chaos. It stayed that way for a long, long time. Eventually though something happened, something changed, and creation sprang into existence from chaos. This new something brought with it another surprise, sentience.
Of all the powers, collective sentience is the strangest. Beings that possess no other magical or supernatural ability otherwise may change their world if just enough of them believe. So what if those beliefs are different?
The sentient beings of creation had many names, many faces, for the gods, for chaos, and for life in general. As sentience pushed and prodded, all conformed. The single avatar of chaos became a many faceted being. Each personality held the original memories of chaos, the original mind, but at the moment of their division they became distinct.
Many avatars of Chaos. . . all first
The same happened to many aspects of existence in the sway of sentience.
So then, I was first. Setesch they called me, that and many other names, but the most well known is Setesch. After creation sprang from my nothingness, I existed for thousands of years among the other gods and great powers of existence. I will not go into all of my history as much of it has already been recorded and lost by the scribes of a thousand ages.
Everything changed when four of my children coveted my power: Anarchy, Discord, Pandemonium and Snarl. They attacked me, locking me away on the red moon of Tartarus, and sending the heavenly prison away from earth.
For a time I fought against my restraints, then finally I slept.
Chapter 2: Seth
My first real memory is of my mother being killed in front of me. I say first real memory because I have other memories before that time, but it’s like they happened to someone else, were read out of a book and placed in my mind. Those memories are of my time still under the sway of the project.
The project was designed to build the perfect soldier: A killing machine that wouldn't break down where machines were unreliable, and that had no emotion to stop him from doing his job. That last part is where the scientists really screwed up. They thought they had figured it out, thought they had created the perfect shell that they could impart their knowledge into without thought. Turns out, no matter how much they cut things out, it always found a way. In the pursuit of perfection, order, they always found chaos. They kept trying. Where genetics failed, they turned to the occult and continued their work.
About the time work on my project was started, a significant event occurred in the heavens, or simply space if you prefer. There was a moonlet, blood red like it was drenched in the fluid of life, its strange orbit brought it close to earth where it was snagged and took up a new orbit around terra.
While the scientists were collecting samples to create me, they landed on the moon. Aside from the historical and cultural importance of finding ruins reminiscent of ancient Egypt and the Aztecs, they found what appeared to be a mummified figure. Unable to resist the temptation, the scientists took samples of this figure for work on my genome.
Once they had found what they thought was the perfect specimen. They began training me. I was drilled almost from the moment of my false birth, implanted with the collective knowledge from the military personnel in the program, as well as the knowledge of the scientists themselves. I was drilled and trained even before I began walking. Though that didn't take long in its own right. My father just seemed to disappear sometime during the program. I wouldn't find out until later that he had objected early on and was removed. He was too strong for them to kill, but they were able to keep him away from me while I was under their control. They left my mother around, thinking that she was too weak to do any damage to the program. I was raised as a mindless killing machine until the day my mother objected and I watched her killed by the hands of one of the scientists. Turns out I had actually been kidnapped along with my parents. The Company that originally funded my project was in control of the governments of earth, and it had enemies. Those enemies were planning on using me to bring down the company. The man who killed my mother was an agent of the company, but I didn’t find that out for quite a while.
At the time, all I saw was a man from the project killing my mother. Until that time I had felt nothing, but suddenly something welled up inside, there was more to my mind buried beneath the surface than even the scientists who designed that body had anticipated. At age six I was already fully grown, and stronger than anyone on the base, I slit the scientist's throat with his own i.d. card.
I fled the base, eventually ending up in a city split between the company at the core, and the gangs on the fringe. That’s where I met Serina. She was the first person I knew I cared about. Of course I cared about my mother, but that had been buried at the time and I wasn’t aware of it until after her death.
Eventually I saw the wisdom in those who had taken me from the company. I rallied the gangs and took back the city. The company sent another soldier to stop me, my sister. I couldn’t kill her, so much for an emotionless machine. I managed to break the company’s hold over her and we took the fight to them. Along the way there were times I would blackout, would act without knowing what I was doing. Usually these situations were beyond me, or simply so traumatic that they triggered something deep inside my mind. It became apparent that whatever was buried beneath the surface had a mind of its own, a mind with memories and thoughts far removed from my own. Apparently though, this mind was part of me, and therefore wanted me alive.
When I confronted the company on the red moon, I found the mummy that they had sampled. The greatest strength of my program was not the training, not the perfect genome or the implants, it was that the scientists had designed my body to evolve according to conditions I met outside, things they could never predict. During my time fighting the company I had evolved quite a bit, become able to consume bodies whole. Upon seeing the mummified figure, the mind behind my mind pushed me to consume it.
I was flooded with the awareness of who I really was. The few years I had lived as a mortal were nothing compared to the millennia my other mind had existed as chaos.
I had two distinct minds working in unison, the Soldier and Chaos. For a time the soldier was happy in his life with Serina. But eventually the Damphir passed. Then Chaos took over. I reclaimed my position as an avatar of the void; I lived lifetimes, all the while both minds becoming a nearly seamless one. I spawned many children from the combination of science and chaos. Among those children, Anarchy was reborn again, my strongest child. I came to the nexus. It was there that I encountered Sukora and our story comes nearly to the present.
I don’t know for sure why I bought her at that sale, don’t know if I was planning on bedding her, eating her for dinner or both. I do know that neither happened. I eventually let her go. We became friends, we became close, and her presence started to turn aside the urges of Chaos that had steered me all these years. I started to act more human again. I started to form bonds with others once more.
This was the time I met the Quoth’its, the Kings, the Yautja, and the others that have earned a measure of my respect and some I even viewed as peers.
I eventually confronted my son Anarchy. I thought I had destroyed him but it turns out I only sent him back to the void. While I was fighting half of my mind, my other children imprisoned me in the void as well. I didn’t know it at the time, but when I finally escaped Anarchy was along for the ride. He had learned to possess others, turn their strengths against them. When I fought my own urges, he fed them.
Anarchy drove me to beat and nearly rape Kunkka, a Quoth’it I had become friends with. In the aftermath I was torn up inside. I fought back the urgings of chaos so far that Anarchy was able to take them all from me. In a feat that should have killed me, he ripped himself forth from my chest pulling all of chaos with him and shredding most of what the project had put into my physical body.
In the aftermath three things were very, very clear.
1: I no longer possessed two minds, Setesch was gone.
2: I was weaker than I had ever been before, without many of my advanced genetics and systems to fall back on.
3: Myself, and anyone I was close to, was in very big trouble.
Anarchy used Sukora as the first message, beating and raping her while I was still too weak to even walk.
My body was so torn up and eviscerated that I should have died. I was barely on the upside of life support but not able to heal myself at all. I guess it was a good thing that Sukora’s influence led me to make a few friends.
Konstantine, one of the kings, was willing to help. Or more accurately push her boyfriend Ace to help. He used an experimental symbiote to stabilize my body. Since that time I have been trying to rebuild my strength in the hopes of defeating Anarchy when he comes for me again.
Gaining strength was too slow, way too slow. When I saw the quick way I took it. Code, an acquaintance with a similar background in genetics, still held samples of my old form, an insurance policy of sorts that I had left with him on a whim. I counted it as good luck when I ran into him again and he still held the samples.
The last thing I remember is taking them back into my body.
Chapter 3: Eric (The Symbiote)
Seth is a moron. Granted he’s also a genius, but he is the most moronic genius I’ve ever met. I don’t know why Ace gave me the job of fixing this guy up. I didn’t like it at first, but now I’m committed. Besides, if everything works out I’ll actually be bonded to someone worthy of me.
I guess I should cut the soldier some slack. He’s used to attacking the problem head on. Those samples were a decent idea, but he must have forgotten just how much was in there. The overload to his system would have killed him if he tried to evolve to meet all of what was there. Of course he can’t. One little backup built into his evolution system, Anyone with that system (Seth, his sister, a couple of others usually related to those two) is immune to it. Basically they can’t evolve from each other.
Those samples were so much different than Seth’s current body that they were almost totally incompatible. That along with the random energy signatures threaded throughout made it almost impossible to keep him alive after he brought the samples in.
Sure there is useful stuff there, but it’s going to take a lot of time and work to ferret out even a couple useable strands of DNA from the whole mess. I’ll do what I can, but I’m not making any promises.
In the meantime, I had to put Seth to sleep to deal with the overload. He’s not going to remember much when he wakes up, but it’s this or death and he’d kill me if I let him die. I don’t think he’s too fond of death.
Chapter 4: Duality (Two sons as one)
After he regained consciousness, Seth continued his mission to find a way of defeating Anarchy. In the end, he simply wasn't strong enough. He had friends, allies, but no one with him was able to touch the chaotic avatar.
When it looked like Seth was finally going to die for good, his life was saved by the pacifist. His son Patrick, a well of unknown and unfathomed power, was unlike any other in his family. Patrick abhorred fighting. He would not strike out against others, but he would defend those that needed protection. Where Seth was incapable of doing, Patrick was forced to act. In his final act of protection, the pacifist son brought the avatar into himself. Two became one: Chaos and Law, Science and Occult, the Pacifist and the Monster. Out of Patrick and Anarchy's form, Duality was born.
It had been a habit of Seth's over the years to split into many different clones. These splittings were often driven by major events where he could only take one path. In the same instant when Duality was born, all of Seth's many clones became one; many lifetimes, many memories, all one again. The aftermath broke Seth's mind. In an act of kindness, Duality wiped Seth's mind, allowing the soldier to start anew and perhaps find a better way than the one he had before.

The Folliwing pictures give you an idea of what his armor looks like.
Mostly like the first pic, the draconic head from the second pic, with six dreadlocks like the helmet in the top left of the last pic
