What is it?
Total nexxus is simply a group effort to facilitate large inclusive RP amongst the people of the keep.
How does it work?
The nexxus is a place of convergence, a place where many realities touch. Simply put, anyone and anything can exist there. In the right circumstances one can find a Roman gladiator face to face with an imperial Space Marine, or any other strange combination you can think of.
Basic concepts.
Every character in the Keep exists together. They all have a chance of running into one another and building upon the dynamic of this place. This presents a few troubles when it comes to widely different or conflicting characters interacting, but such troubles can be overcome with a few basic concepts.
1: The Nexxus is it's own place. In this place all realities meet, all have a representation, but none hold total sway. The Nexxus itself is a unique place. There are some things that exist only here, and many things that have come over from other realities.
2: Time from the perspective of the converging realities is irrelevent. One reality may be 40,000 years in the future while another is in the stone age.
3: With the Nexxus as a converging point, travel between these different realities is possible.
This of course brings up questions.
Example:
1: If people from stone age technology up to far future technology both exist here, why don't the higher tech civilizations simply take over?
There are a couple of answers to questions like this, the following answers don't cover every possibility.
1: The people in the Nexxus seem to naturally segregate themselves. Civilizations find their own place amongst their relative peers go there. Some are so segregated that they are almost completely cut off from outside influence.
2: There are factions that work specifically to stop those with technology from taking advantage of those without.
3: Many of the high tech civilizations find the low tech civilizations aren't even worth their time and effort when they have other things in the Nexxus to deal with.
Locations in Nexxus
Most places in the Nexxus can exist relatively the same way they do in the other realities that they are in. This is because they are often unique to only a few realities.
This means random worlds and such are still scattered out amongst the stars the same way they are in their regular realities. So for example: Hoth, Pandora, the Eye of Terror, Abydos and others all exist here. They may be changed slightly with the new dynamic of the other forces in the area, but they are still around.
The only place that really has any issues is earth. In the Nexxus, no one reality holds sway. This means that the earth of the Nexxus isn't the earth of the 40 1st millenium, it isn't the earth of the UNSC, or any other earth specific to it's own reality. What we find is that Terra is an amalgam. The world is influenced by countless thousands of realities. There is no one central government here. There are kingdoms, some advanced and other not, often segregated. There are a few places where everything seems to meet, places where all of the influences have coalesced into a kind of standard environment of the place. Basically these are the usual rooms in the Keep, the Arena, the tavern, etc.
