In hopes of increasing traffic and discussion around the forum, I am planning a tournament.
This tournament will involve CC and TK, which means you will may need to register your characters on both depending on who you fight.
The rules are simple.
1. This will be a double elimination tournament. This means that you are still in the tournament until you lose twice. For those who don't know what this looks like, here is an example bracket.
2. The tournament will consist of two sections. The first section is for melee and low powered characters. This means no planar or RM, no destroying the world with your will. The Second section will be anything goes where you can destroy as much as you wish.
3. Each person may enter two characters in each section of the tournament. Obviously I don't know every character that every person uses so this will partially be based on the honor system. If I find out that someone has broken this rule they will be reduced to one character in each section.
4. Each match will be overseen by judges. I am one of the judges. I am looking for at least three more. Judges will be responsible for resolving disputes between characters in a fight and for deciding if a tactic is too powerful (light section only). Only the judges may decide that a tactic is too powerful, if they do then the opponent has the option of making the person rewrite the post. The opponent may choose to include it if they wish.
5. Each fight will be logged and posted in the discussion section along with any relevant whispers.
6. At the beginning of each fight, the contestants may agree upon any stipulations they wish. After they are agreed upon, the judges will enforce these stipulations for that fight.
7. For the sake of continuity, if a character dies they will be considered to have been brought back to life by the other participants with the power to do so. This means that no one is permanently dead from anything that happens in this tournament.
More rules may be added if need be. I will take any suggestions. If you are interested in participating post which characters you will be using and which sections they are participating in. If you are interested in helping judge post here as well. Just because you are judging does not mean you cannot participate in the tournament. You just can't judge your matches.
The Tournament will start in 1 week on June 19th.
