Alright, basically what I've learned from my little thing is that Necromancy is the manipulation of the entities of death. Simply put. It's like any other mancy, the manipulation of a specific entity that has the capabilites of expanding, depending on which type of magic it is. Necro, stands for death. Meaning, you can manipulate the entities of death itself. Necromancy is said to manifest on the Negative Planes, which are located in the inner planes, and is the polar opposite of positive energy, which is life energy / divine energy. For one to be able to manipulate the entities of death without killing themselves, they would have to either be already dead, or would have been resserected from the state of death. I've learned Necromancy from Veazey, so I call the entities of death Bereavement. Death can be basically found everywhere, even in the corpses of a once living creature, which is what some people call resserections, but I just call reanimations. They really aren't alive, as they depend on the one that reanimated them. Necromancy is said to be one of the most powerful magics out there, and I could belive it. Now, for summons, I would consider it opening a gateway, or conduit, straight to the outer planes itself and taking over the spirit itself and using it for your bidding. Necromancy isn't really the "summoning" of Wraiths and such, considering they're not alive, nor dead, nor undead. They just exist. They pull the dead to the Styx River on the Astral Plane to go to the after-life and such.
Necromancy is viewed more along the lines of the Dark Arts rather then as the typical magic. Requiring that of rather distinctive traits, this literally deadly practice is one of the more powerful ones. Being the only magic that Token Sacrosanct uses, it would obviously have to hold a lot of special characteristics to have been chosen beyond the typical cliché. This art is easily intertwined with multiple planes in the Planes of Existence, and holds multiple uses along with the deadly entity Bereavement. The general concept of Bereavemental entities was developed by Veazey a while back before I even started RP’ing, but it’s pretty much a synonym to the Entity of Death. Altering the name from the Entity of Death not only glorifies the entity, but gives a rather enigmatic trait to it, often confusing the unquestioning foe.
Prerequisites:
-One would either be dead, or has been dead. Meaning, they were killed and resurrected. Upon time of death, they learn the art in the after life, or from another Necromancer.
-The reason behind this is simple. If you’re living and you try and conjure the Bereavement, you’ll kill yourself, being as the entity negates all forms of life.
-To use Necromancy to its fullest, master the Planes of Existence. Being as this Art revolves around death, understanding the Spiritual Planes would give you necessary information.
-Know what creatures there are, physical and spiritual. You do not manipulate the beings, but the entity that composes them, death.
-Always be epic with posts relating to Necromancy. It’s viewed as a mysterious and powerful art, make sure your posts are like that.
Death is subtle, and often intertwined within the Realm of the Living. (Ex: Coliseum / Arena, Graveyards, Haunted Houses, etc.) Necromancy not only deals with the entity of death, but rather all things negative. Life is believe to be positive, and death is believed to be negative. In this case, negative emotions, notational energy, and all things alike fall into the jurisdiction of Necromancy’s infamous touch. If you have a creative mind with an undeniably logical mind, anything is considerably possible. The stereotype is, Necromancy kills, but it also could grant life when deemed necessary. Remove the negative presence and allow the returning of the spiritual entities, and life is granted.
The reason why Token is often viewed as a great Necromancer is not only through him being a master manipulator and all, but rather the knowledge of how Necromancy, Death and Negative energy effects everything. Necromancy is a gate way to creating superior attacks beyond that of the mundane Necromancy. Experience is golden in this case. This art is spiritualistic in a ritualistic fashion. Everything has a cause and effect. Summoning zombies and such upon the Prime Material Plane is the weakest form of Necromancy. The actual manipulation and domination over more powerful entities and creatures is what makes it so great. Basically, every other art excluding other ritualistic magics are deemed limited in my mind.
