I'd suggest most of you should look over these simple ass films and learn some stuff. The Flatland video with Dr. Quantum helps explain the concept of dimensions. The Double Slit Experiment with Dr. Quantum explains, very clearly, an experiment that happens in every day science which seemingly defies the notion of classical physics; it's the first step into Quantum Mechanics that you need to take just to get a whiff of the strange, though exploitive, ideas that float around in this field of theoretical physics. Dr. Quantum sounds like a pedophile.
It's like Bill Nye the Science Guy, basically. A really, really, simplified version of the slit experiment, but good enough to give you a general idea. It grossly oversimplifies the nature of the quantum world, and in the process I feel that they can create misunderstanding about what is actually happening.
I suggest you read the Flatland novel by Edwin Abbot if the Flatland thing interested you. It's a fascinating book. Contact me for a PDF if you like. There's some really nice online renderings of what Flatlanders would see that I can point you towards, too.

Yeah, I didn't expect anyone to get a crush on what I've shown them, hence me saying "get a whiff". Could be taken out of context by anyone, but it gives you the general idea - though, very vague - which is all I intended, 'cause that's all I'm offering on the plate to the viewers.  Just a lesson for anyone - when I'm describing things openly like I am now, I'm going to be vague. Assume it every time you read some kind of information that I throw out, then it's your queue to learn (through your own methods [one being research]). Dr. Quantum = Santa btw |
