This is the basic information for subjects from Project Blank slate. This also includes their descendants.
Known Subjects: Seth, Deimos
The original basis of this project was to design a human with a 'blank slate' of genetics allowing for unlimited evolutionary potential. Though the potential to evolve has been left in the project, the subject has subsequently become so much more than originally imagined.
In all cases the genetic structure used as a base was a completely pure and perfect representation of the human genome. This genome was further enhanced with specific genetic strains chosen from nearly every species of animal on earth even before cultured cells were added. Unlike the nearly 3 billion base pairs of genes present in normal humans, the subject's DNA contains nearly 100 billion base pairs many left untouched allowing for the subject to 'evolve' to meet the situations they are faced with.
Evolution Processor- Also known as Darwin's Organ, this is the body system responsible for Project Blank Slate's ability to evolve.
The Evolution processor is grown from modified cell cultures, and then implanted between the thoracic vertebrae and the stomach wall alongside a specialized nerve bundle. The organ samples genetic material in the subject's stomach and bloodstream and begins to break it down for useful traits which are then incorporated into the subject's genome. Traits are tested in proto-systems before being incorporated into the body overall.
Useful traits are coded into specialized stem cells, and into a retrovirus form that begins the process of updating the subject's DNA. Traits that correspond to the subject's base genetics are introduced directly into the cell nucleus, new traits are coded into forms similar to mitochondria and are incorporated into the cell structure.
Skeletal System/joints- The skeletal system is laced with organic ceramics and specific metals causing increased strength and support in every bone of the body. The rib cage is fused together forming a solid plate over the chest cavity, and smaller casings of bone surround each internal organ. The subjects skeletal system has been further enhanced with cultures from Felines and monkeys greatly increasing the subjects flexibility even beyond that of the best contortionists.
Musculature- muscles have been chemically treated and are much tighter packed allowing for a higher amount of strength in the same space that a normal muscle takes up, and providing some physical protection against damage.
Nervous System- Every section of nerve cells has been tripled where possible and doubled where not. Every suitable length of nerve has been given mylon sheathing allowing for enhanced reaction time. Redundant systems have been added so that every function handled by the brain can also be handled by a specialized nerve bundle placed somewhere else in the body allowing the subject to remain active despite almost total brain damage and head trauma. The added cells also give the subject a nearly perfect sense of balance in almost any situation.
Eyesight- The subjects eyes have been enhanced with light sensitive cells harvested from insects, felines and avians (birds). The reflective cornea from many animal species has been added along with the glare removing oils present in many raptors, and the thin protective membrane present in many reptiles and amphibians. Subject has prefect vision in almost all lighting conditions and is able to see further into the spectrum of light than any living human.
NICTITATING MEMBRANES- A transparent or translucent third eyelid present in some animals that can be drawn across the eye for protection and to moisten it while maintaining visibility. Unlike the upper and lower eyelids, the nictitating membrane moves horizontally across the eyeball. This "inner eyelid" protects the eyes, keeping out sand, grit, smoke and other irritants. The membrane is transparent providing protection for the eye while still maintaining visibility. This is especially useful in underwater activities.
Smell and other senses- Scent receptive cells have been added from pigs and canines drastically heightening the subjects sense of smell. Cells harvested from sharks and other underwater predators allow for a type of sent underwater, and heat receptive cells from snakes allow for the subject to 'see and smell' heat around himself. Other cells harvested from insects and reptiles allow for 'scent' by taste. Cells harvested from thousands of animals give the subject senses such as electromagnetic sensitivity, taste by touch, and basically any other useful sense possessed by the animal kingdom.
Hearing- Cells were cultured from felines and avians boosting the normal range of hearing. Sonar receptive cells were harvested from bats and many ocean mammalia, these along with the high pitched noises the subject can emit allow for a nearly 3D view based off of sound.
Skin- The subjects skin has been thickened with cells harvested from large mammals and reptiles providing a kind of natural armor.
Wings- Resembling those of a bat, the subjects wings are controlled by two different never clusters, one in the brain and one in the shoulders. These nerve clusters were developed from bats, insects and avians as well as the cells that control motor movement in a normal human. Precision muscle and nerve adjustments allow for nearly perfect flight in any direction, including hovering.
Tail- Prehensile resembling some reptiles, the subjects tail was developed from felines, monkeys and many types of reptile and amphibian. It is controlled by a nerve cluster in the brain and one at the base of the spine.
Claws- Retractable claws that emerge from underneath the subjects normal fingernails. Though they resemble talons most, they were developed from reptilian and feline cultures.
Gills- The subject can breathe underwater via gills behind each ear as well as along the back of his ribcage.
Speed-The subjects system has been enhanced with cell cultures taken from the worlds fastest animals allowing the subject to reach speeds of 70mph.
Immune system- Being Genetically perfect, the subject is already rendered immune to many of the diseases that plague humanity. The subject also can produce any known antibody in the plant and animal kingdom rendering him immune to their various poisons and other chemicals. The subject is nearly immune to all viruses, bacteria and venoms.
Chemical Production- If a chemical exists in the animal kingdom, or plant kingdom, that the subject has already come into contact with, the subject's body is able to produce it and the associated counteractive agents. This includes pheromones, poisons, drugs and any other chemical agent. These can be exhaled in a gas form or 'spit' through an opening below the subject's tongue that runs to various glands in the subjects body. Many of these chemicals can also be released through the pores of the subject.

REDUNDANT NERVE BUNDLES: These nerve bundles act like miniature brains situated throughout the body. There is one for each greater appendage the subject possesses; arms, legs, wings, tail, etc. There is also one for the subjects organs. These bundles relieve the brain of work allowing a subject to hypertask while each brain manages it's specific functions. In cases of head trauma, these bundles can control the subject's body independent of information from the subject's brain. This means that even in the case of complete head trauma, the subject may have time to get medical attention provided they have some senses left for navigation and receive the treatment before the body starves.
